This fixed fifth-wheel hitch is made for hauling big loads without feeling like you’re pushing the limits. It’s rated for 16,000 lbs gross towing weight and 4,000 lbs vertical load, so you can pull heavy fifth wheels with confidence. The sturdy steel build and carbide black finish give it a solid, long-lasting feel. Once it’s locked onto the king pin, it stays put—no swaying, no second-guessing as you head down the road.
Hookup is quick and secure thanks to the auto-locking slide-bar jaw mechanism that wraps around the king pin. A rear tension bar clamps down to reduce movement and rattle, giving you a more stable ride even over rough stretches. You can also add a padlock if you want to lock the bar closed. The design keeps things simple—just back in, lock on, and go knowing your trailer is held tight.
Rough roads or uneven sites are easier to handle with the dual-pivot head that allows 10 degrees of lateral movement. It gives you the flexibility to hitch up on slightly unlevel ground and helps your trailer track better on the highway. Permalube bushings keep the pivoting motion smooth while cutting down maintenance. An anti-rattle skid plate keeps things quiet so towing feels steady instead of clunky.
Getting your trailer level is important for stability, and this hitch makes that easy with four height settings between 13" and 17". Choose the position that gives your setup the right clearance for bed rails and a level ride. When you need to remove it, the head comes off with two pins so one person can lift it out without a struggle.
The package includes above-bed base rails and a universal-fit installation kit so you have what you need to mount the hitch in your truck bed. The universal brackets require drilling but are built to handle heavy-duty use once installed. With everything in one box—rails, hardware, and hitch—you can get set up and ready to tow with fewer parts to chase down later.

Was exactly what I needed. Good prices and fast shipping and great customer service.
The instructions could be better but I didn't have to look for support. It took a few hours to drill and measure, bolting the hitch together and in took about 45 minutes. I got the hitch Friday morning and installed Friday afternoon, picked up my RV on Saturday. I couldn't be happier with the product. I was hearing horror stories from friends about the cost of hitches, the C16 was very affordable, installed easily and I wouldn't hesitate to order another hitch from etrailer if I need another one.
Went together and functions perfectly. I bought the fifth wheel, the rails, the trailer brake controller/ wiring and the trailer wiring harness all together. It got o me in 2 days! One of the few purchases I made that everything actually fit right out of the box and worked. I would recommend buying from etrailer.com to anyone who needs the right stuff fast. TC
The Curtis hitch that I purchased little over a year ago it has been a great Hitch anybody out there thinking about purchasing a Fifth wheel hitch I recommend giving Etrailer- a Kohl’s

Still ticked pink with the hitch and price I paid

Hitch still works good and I still believe that etrailer is the best place to go for all your camping needs.

It has continued to function properly and am well pleased with the product
The hitch is well made and easy to use. My trailer only weighs about 6000 pounds so this hitch is plenty strong for my purposes. I like how easy it is to remove the hitch head from the lower bracket. It makes removal of the hitch when not in use so much easier with two pieces that are light enough to easily carry around. I would absolutely recommend this hitch.
As a first timer towing a 27' fifth wheel, I was really nervous. And it didn't help that the people who installed my hitch threw away the directions. Thankfully technology and YouTube came to the rescue with a video on EXACTLY how to hitch up. And once I figured out that the jaws have to be opened to accept the kingpin, I was well and truly set. The hitch worked like a dream and hooking up was easy. Yesterday, I did it all by myself using the rearview mirror. Thank you so much for a wonderful, easy to use product. I am no longer nervous about hitching, unhitching and towing.
Now if you have another product to help with the whole backing up thing.....

I love my 5th Wheel Hitch, At first i was hesitant of it, i never pulled a 5th wheel before. This hitch is so heavy duty and has been a great tool for major situations where i thought the trailer may possibly disconnect in harsh roads. It has never let me down or has never disconnected. Very Good Hitch.
My experience was excellent with e trailer but bad with delivery. When the package finally arrived it looked like it was thrown off of a train and then the train ran it over. The package was obviously ripped to shreds and it looks like the track workers gathered all the parts and put it back in what was left of the cardboard box and then duck taped it enough to hold it together. It was missing all the bolts and hardware so I couldn’t even start to try and put it together. But e trailer agreed that there could be stress cracks under the powder coat of the hitch and it could not be trusted. I’m very glad they thought the same thing because if the hitch failed my kids in the backseat would be the first ones to be crushed. So I wrapped up the package with more duct tape as best I could and sent it back. E trailer paid for the return shipping and also sent me a brand new hitch which I think only took two days. Awesome company. The instructions supplied showed exactly how to install it. Very pleased with this product. Will definitely purchase from E trailer again. The only thing that I would tell the next person is to go and buy yourself some really really really good metal drill bits to drill through your frame of the truck. I destroyed all of my big drill bits to get through the frame, but it worked. My next purchase will be the gooseneck plate attachment so I can tow a gooseneck trailer if I ever come across one. Hopefully I can get it for Christmas lol
Good product as advertised, arrived in timely manner,. Shipping box was pretty beat up, stickers on hitch arms scratched up from parts in box not secured inside box. Tried uploading pics but get an error. Thanks Kevin

Good is far, a little sloppy where the pin goes, but just the way its made.
Good hitch and the installation kit worked great on my 97 Dodge. When I got my 2015 RAM I got the installation kit for that, it didn't work so great and I had to make modifications. The underside of my 2015 didn't look anything like the truck in the video. That's why only 4 stars.

Its all still working fine, however the spring that causes the latch to lock stretched out and came off. Fortunately I had tools with me to put it back on and its ok now.

Missing s bracket
Trailer was extremely easy to deal with and when I wasn’t sure about something I contacted Curt and they helped me out. I highly recommend both companies.

It works perfectly. The help from Curt was welcoming.
It works good. Makes a little "bump" sound when starting to go forward after a stop. It took me about 10 hours over two days to install it on my 2020 Ram 2500 Tradesman. The recommended Curt mounting kit worked as per supplied instructions.
Received in 3 days. Good quality, easy to install. Instructions was good if you have common knowledge of what your doing. I would recommend etrailer to anyone who is looking for a hitch for their truck.
It’s my first time installing a fifth wheel hitch. Install wasn’t bad took a little longer than I thought but turned out great. Had to buy a couple extra bolts but I figured I probably would ever trucks different and I used a universal rail kit. All and all I’m happy can’t wait to put it to use. Thanks for a great product
We have the turning point pin on our rig so we had to get a wedge. I don't know if it was the wedge or the hitch but unless we were perfectly straight and level, we couldn't hitch up. Same with unhitching. After the 3rd time of not being able to unhitch without taking the entire head of the hitch off, we locked up the turning point and got a new hitch and do not use a wedge. Also, with only a bar going across, the pin seemed to wiggle around a lot.
